INFORMATION DESIGN POSTERS

POV SLOPAGANDA

DESIGNED FOR DMI WINTERSCHOOL 2026

JANUARY 2026

Poster POV Slopaganda

I designed the data visualizations and layout of 4 posters for POV Slopaganda: Vernacular Aesthetics and Biopolitical Compression in AI-Generated Fear, a research project exploring a new genre of AI-generated short-form videos circulating on social media, which use POV aesthetics and synthetic futures to convey fears around demographic change and societal collapse. More info here.

THE ALGORITHMIC MIRROR

DESIGNED FOR DMI SUMMERSCHOOL 2025

JULY 2025

Poster The Algorithmic Mirror

I designed the data visualizations and layout and conducted the research for 3 posters for The Algorithmic Mirror: Auditing TikTok Recommender Systems for Personalization, Protection, and Profiling, a research project involving a micro-audit of TikTok’s algorithm in the context of the EU’s Digital Services Act (European Parliament, 2022), aimed at assessing the platform’s recommender system’s compliance with the law. HOW REAL IS SYNTHETIC DATA?

DESIGNED FOR DMI WINTERSCHOOL 2025

JANUARY 2025

Poster 3 image

Together with A. Facchin, I designed the data visualizations and layout and conducted the research for 2 posters for How real is synthetic data? Memes at work, a research project exploring the validity of synthetic data by examining related hashtags generated by large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT and comparing them to actual Instagram data. WORLD DATA VISUALIZATION PRIZE - SHORTLIST

2023

[R]PA: Measuring [Relative] Progress Acceleration project image

The visualisation highlights for each year (2010 to 2020), in the field of global health and other related areas, the most significant deviations between annual relative deltas and average development trends (average of annual deltas), defining a metric of progress. In this way, a more dynamic and direct view of the history of the data sets can be obtained (e.g., from a turbulent trend in malaria deaths to a softer trend in life expectancy. What's wrong with undernourishment?). More info here.
